12. April - The Undertaker Retires... For Now

After suffering a second WrestleMania defeat in three years, a clearly knackered Undertaker silently folded his leather jacket up, leaving it under his hat in a nice, neat little pile in the ring. It was a lovely bit of housework to close the show, but there was a deeper meaning: for the 'Deadman', the gig was up.

The match with Roman Reigns was a sad affair, the 52-year old 'Taker clearly unable to keep up with his Samoan junior. It was a poor contest, but in many ways the perfect story for his send-off, echoing Ric Flair's 'retirement' eight years earlier at WrestleMania XXIV.

Though Undie's permanent exit has not been officially confirmed - and rumours spring up on the fourth weekend of every month about his pending return to action - it really does seem like he's hung his hat up for good. Much as we miss him, it's the right decision.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
