Zayn, like his buddy Kevin Owens, was written out after getting bashed around by Bobby Lashley. Their feud-ending squash match was a convenient way to write Raw's cheekiest scamp out ahead of double shoulder surgery.

Sami had been working through two torn rotator cuffs. One had been troubling him for years, and he went under the knife in June 2018. He, like KO, had featured in vignettes hyping his comeback in December. Zayn countered these by saying he was "nowhere near ready" to return later that month. However, the Observer reaction he was at the Performance Center in January.

We may have to remain patient for another few months.

Expected return: Sometime around WrestleMania 35.
