18 Things You Probably Missed From WWE SmackDown (July 2)

6. Subtly Going One Better

This was genius.

Kevin Owens' entrance graphic noted that he "speaks both French and English fluently". This throwaway fact was then instantly topped by Sami Zayn's follow-up brag. It mentioned that the heel is actually "trilingual" and speaks Arabic, French and English with ease.

Most folks probs missed this, but it's worth pointing out. Sami was subtly going one better than his old rival before their 'Last Man Standing' cracker.

5. Who Was In The Match Cole Mentioned

Cole said there hadn't been a 'Last Man Standing' clash on SmackDown in seven years, but he didn't go one step further and detail exactly who was involved. A rapid flick through the WWE archives reveals that Bray Wyatt vs. Jimmy Uso happened on the 30 May 2014 episode.

In fairness to Michael, it wouldn't have made "Main Event" Jimmy look great had they mentioned that he did the J.O.B for someone in passing. Also, Wyatt isn't on TV at the moment, so the lead announcers perhaps wanted to skim over the participants.

4. Pat Sort Of Mentioning The Dudley Boyz

Pat McAfee, meanwhile, has zero problems with mentioning those who aren't on telly.

Well, sort of. He yelled, "Get the tables" when Kevin Owens pulled some wood out from underneath the ring and started setting it up. McAfee stopped short of naming Bubba-Ray or D-Von here, which was likely wise - that's the kind of thing that'd make Vince McMahon shake his head.
