18 Things You Probably Missed From WWE SmackDown (July 2)

3. A Fully Slow-Mo Bump

WWE usually speeds up replays before the bump when they're running slow-mo. Here, they thought it'd be a neat idea to show KO's fisherman buster on Sami Zayn from the middle turnbuckle in full without quickening the pace.

They were right.

The slow motion continued until long after the landing, which looked awesome. Zayn bounced back up off the canvas, then crumpled back down and started selling. Meanwhile, Owens sold the impact instantly. This was a work of art.

2. Sami Zayn’s Question

Did you hear Sami Zayn pleading with Kevin Owens and trying to play old pals? He whined, "How did we get here?" when the tables (literally) turned and KO was readying some match-winning powerbombs. Barking back, Owens said, "Just karma".

This was sweet storytelling from a pair who just get it and know how to present every aspect of their respective characters.

1. Edge Teasing The Rock?

Finally, this.

Edge emphasised one word when he cut that show-opening promo. He said, "It rocked me" when talking about that loss to Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan back at WrestleMania 37. This is very far-fetched, but what if Edge was teasing The Rock's WWE return?

The way he accentuated "rocked" stood out, and most expect ol' Dwayne Johnson to launch a comeback and face Roman at some point. This might be one to point back to if WWE do convince Rocky to ditch Hollywood for a spell and come back for some fun with Reigns.
