19 Things WRESTLING Wants You To Forget About CM Punk

2. The Jack Perry Fight

Vince McMahon CM Punk
AEW

Wrestling's worst kept secret in that people were already aware of it before either man had left Wembley Stadium, CM Punk and Jack Perry's All In fight put both men's jobs at risk and ultimately - and fairly - made Punk's untenable after it extended to an altercation with Tony Khan.

Khan revealed that Punk was "terminated with cause, effective immediately" after he felt as though his life was at risk. It's extremely unlikely, but the fact that security footage of the melee exists means one day the full story could be replayed in all its grisly glory to put to bed at least one side of an uncertain story. That it escalated over something as relatively unimportant as the use of real glass for a spot only makes the whole thing sadder.

Regardless, the pre-existing facts were enough, and it brought to an end a sad chapter of Punk's career in wrestling and an insanely uneven stint in All Elite Wrestling.
