19 Things You Probably Missed From WWE SmackDown (July 16)

7. Heyman Has Ditched Part Of His Routine

Did you notice something different about Paul Heyman's promo backstage with Kayla Braxton? The 'Special Council' didn't call Roman the "Reigns-ing, defending Universal Champion" during his speech. Instead, he only called Reigns the "defending" champ at MITB.

Good.

"Reigns-ing" was an awful play on words that made Heyman look foolish and Roman sound like a walking cartoon rather than a heel badass. It's great that Paul (or perhaps someone else) decided that "Reigns-ing" had to go.

6. CorbinFund.com Is Real

CorbinFund.com is real, folks.

Yes, that crowdfunding thing Baron Corbin was banging on about this week is an actual thing. However, you'll only see a screenshot of the stuff WWE put up on the tron if you visit the website - donating is impossible, as if anyone would*.

*Someone out there will chuck a few dollars WWE's way, let's be honest.

5. KO Knows All About $100,000

Corbin is asking that fans donate at least $100,000 to his cause so he can pay some bills and avoid moving in with his in-laws. That begging bowl act prompted Kevin Owens to come out and hit Baron with a Stunner. Sheesh, you'd think KO would be more understanding considering his plight a few years back.

100k is the exact amount Shane McMahon fined Owens back in 2019, and the babyface was asked to make that figure seem life-changing at the time. He even said that he wouldn't be able to put his kids through college unless Shane retracted the fine.

How times change.
