19 Things You Probably Missed From WWE SmackDown (July 9)

16. The Real ‘Head Of The Table’?

This was a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment.

WWE's cameras flashed to the ThunderDome masses (for one of the final times) during Roman's opening promo. Look carefully and you might've spotted a tiny sign that read, "The Rock: Head Of The Table". WWE will like the thought of fans hyping that for them - if they even noticed this at all.

15. A Brock Lesnar Mention

Reigns was describing how every fighter on the planet doubts themselves in the heat of battle at certain points when he turned to Paul Heyman and said, "Ask Brock". That, ladies and gents, was a lesser-spotted Brock Lesnar mention on WWE television in 2021.

It's even rare for announcers to talk about Lesnar these days, and it's rarer still for someone the stature of Roman to bring him up. Heyman nodded his head as if to say, 'Yes, even Brock Lesnar has struggled during combat'.

Watch this space.

14. An “Edgeface”?

Jimmy Uso talked about being locked in "the Edgeface" last week.

Seriously, that's what they're going with? Edge's crossface is fine being called...Edge's crossface. It definitely doesn't need this frankly rubbish personalised name, especially when it's as lame as "the Edgeface". That's neither a clever play on words nor very dangerous sounding.

Generally, your new finisher's name shouldn't sound like a brand of top quality hillwalking jackets. It's also worth noting that Edge himself hasn't uttered this title yet. Here's hoping things stay that way, because this sucked.
