19 WWE Extras Who Became World Champion

6. The Hardy Boyz

It's been a whopping thirty years since Matt and Jeff Hardy first showed up on a WWF show.

That's one way to make someone feel painfully old, right?

The Hardy Boyz would obviously end up becoming one of the most adored tag units of all time over the decades, winning numerous pieces of tag gold as they launched themselves off of many a ladder. But both of the fearless brothers have also gotten their hands on singles world titles on multiple occasions, too.

Jeff's CV boasts WWE, World Heavyweight, and TNA World Heavyweight Championship reigns, while Matt's contains a few TNA World Heavyweight title victories, too. The latter also lifted ECW title gold, if you want to count that as well.

Before either man ever heard the words "And New..." after a high-profile world title bout, though, they could be seen jobbing out to WWF stars in the mid-90s and even appearing as humble extras on the company's 1995 edition of the King of the Ring PPV.

After pretending to be a Royal Guard/Doorman with his sibling here, Jeff would also notably struggle to carry the winner of that tournament Mabel to the ring during one of his royal entrances - the first of his many daring risks on WWF/E TV.
