2 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Feb 16 - Results & Review)

2. It Was Real Hard To Care About This

Man, what a messy main event this was.

Take AEW's overdone trios formula, double it and BOOM! You had this non-stop train of in-and-out spots. It was far too busy, and was just the latest example of Tony Khan throwing everything he can think of in front of fans to see what might stick. Actually, that sums up this whole "Bang Bang Scissor Gang" idea generally.

Putting The Acclaimed with Bullet Club Gold was a puzzling idea to begin with. AEW has been making an arse of Anthony Bowens, Max Caster and Billy Gunn for far too long now (since they won the tag belts), and now they're interchangeable members in wrestling's latest overstuffed faction. GREAT.

Rampage's headliner was as forgettable a main as you're ever likely to see. It sure didn't help that one of those pesky picture-in-picture ad breaks interrupted a few short minutes in, or that Dark Order were teaming with Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal's crew for...reasons.
