2 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Mar 25)

2. Was Vince Russo Booking?

Saturday's main event played out like Vince Russo circa 2000 had been huffing pre-workout backstage then laid it out. Honestly, the headliner felt like it should've taken place on an overstuffed edition of WCW Nitro, and that is not meant as a compliment whatsoever.

The Acclaimed vs. The Kingdom had four men in-ring, two JAS members (Matt Menard and Angelo Parker) on guest commentary, Maria and Billy Gunn at ringside, and had the cheek to script a quick run in on the bout from Top Flight. Jesus, do you think that's enough?!

It was overkill, and it's increasingly hard to escape the fact that The Acclaimed have dropped off a cliff over the past few months. That's a pity, because they're one of the most over acts in wrestling and definitely deserve better than they've been getting from AEW.

They and The Kingdom didn't stand a chance with so much going on.
