2 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Nov 10 - Results & Review)

3. An Unnecessary Squash

Roderick Strong Matt Taven Mike Bennett The Kingdom
AEW

Roderick Strong is revelling in this chance to be a grating, over-the-top annoyance, and it's working. His pre-match promo about Adam Cole was perfectly acceptable. Then, Matt Taven and Mike Bennett stepped into the ring for a squash match they 100% did not need. Nobody can sell this guy on that!

Tony Khan needs to cut these squashes from shorter shows like Rampage. They're barely interesting even when someone dominant like Powerhouse Hobbs is working them, so who knows why Tony thinks The Kingdom need 90-second squash wins? News flash: They don't.

That 'Neck Check' finish Taven and Bennett have going on looks wonderful, to be fair. Some will tolerate the squash just to see that, but nah - ditch these pointless matches. AEW should've tacked on another couple of minutes to the main event instead.

Please stop.
