2 Ups & 4 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Jul 19)

2. Costing Himself

As previously mentioned, the stakes for winning this tournament were rather huge. It's not every day you have the opportunity to wrestle for a promotion's World Championship. As such, you would imagine the majority of participants involved would pounce at the chance being provided. Not Madman Fulton.

He teamed with X Division Champion and former oVe rival Rich Swann for the tourney, facing Wentz and oVe brethren Jake Crist. Obviously, Fulton would do whatever it took to not lay a single finger on his oVe comrade, even if it meant costing himself one of the biggest opportunities of his entire career. After he chokeslammed Swann and allowed Jake to get the pinfall for he and Wentz, the chance for Fulton to challenge for the top prize was ripped away.

Even if he was only doing this to prevent Swann from getting the match, could he not have just helped the X Division Champion win here, and then destroy him in the singles match? Sure, it would be a risk, but it could have resulted in a big match for the former SAnitY member.
