2 Ups & 4 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Jul 19)

Ups...

2. Blanchard And Callihan Flourish

Perhaps the only match from the MashUp Tournament that didn't really have any disappointing moments was the fourth and final qualifier, pitting Sami Callihan and Tessa Blanchard against Dave Crist and Trey.

Not only was it an excellent match, but the story that's been told between Callihan and Blanchard actually continued, something that can't be said for the other matches. Throughout the whole match, Sami and Tessa struggled to work as a cohesive unit, opting to instead berate the other.

Right at the start, 'The Draw' poked Dave in the chest in a bid to reenact the infamous Fingerpoke of Doom for a cheap win, but Trey wasn't having any of it. From there, it was a mixed match, with Callihan and Blanchard eventually taking the victory to advance to the finals after a Magnum on Trey, followed by a piledriver.

They may not have been on the same page during the match, but Sami and Tessa were quite possibly the best team involved in the entire tournament. Instead of forgetting about their recent past and becoming the best of friends, their hatred was on full display, and they still managed to come out on top. See, it's not that hard!
