2 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Rampage (April 7)

Ups...

2. Darby Allin’s Show Of Guts

There was a slower pace to Darby's match vs. Lee Moriarty than you might've been expecting, but there was also a good reason for that: Allin was hit by a car 24 hours before Rampage, so it's a minor miracle he was even able to wrestle at all. The dude was visibly hurting, and they worked that into the match.

Darby sustained a ton of punishment from Moriarty and interference from Big Bill before rallying for the win. The fact he did so without his pal Sting around ringside only made Allin look like even more of a badass who refuses to quit even when his body is screaming uncle.

Good times.

It makes sense that All Elite want to keep Darby strong. He's in the World Title mix as one of the company's "four pillars", and would make a fine roadblock opponent for MJF somewhere down the line. No, it's obviously not good he was in an accident, but that was something AEW could use to make Allin look like a true daredevil.
