2 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Rampage (May 13)

Ups...

2. An Energetic Trios Effort

The Acclaimed Billy Gunn
AEW

The Acclaimed, Billy Gunn, Butcher, Blade, Kip Sabian - everyone worked really hard during that opener, and they desperately wanted to impress. In-ring, The Acclaimed have great chemistry with Gunn, and Sabian could be something special if AEW keeps developing him/giving him TV time.

Both teams would be valid opponents for House Of Black if they're handed a few wins before competing for the Trios Titles. The Acclaimed got one here, and it proved popular with the live crowd. Giving them a run at Malakai Black's crew isn't the worst idea. The threesome certainly deserve some sort of direction after months without.

Bring it on.

If this was a trial run for things to come, then it worked. Fans were very pleased to see Billy do his thing too, which is astonishing considering it's 2023. Gunn hasn't been this over since his days in the New Age Outlaws/D-Generation X.
