2 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Rampage (May 13)
1. Another Decent Showing
Being honest, yours truly hasn't been invested in The Outcasts' story or Toni Storm as a heel since AEW started experimenting with it. This match vs. Allysin Kay was well-worked though, and both women squeezed a lot into just five short minutes of airtime.
That's the sign of two workers who know their stuff.
Kay is the kind of woman who can click with anybody out there, and she seemed only too happy to give Toni a strong win. It's interesting that Saraya and Ruby Soho interfered but didn't really get involved come the finish. That was important, because it put Storm over as somebody who can get the job done.
Maybe it'll take a bit more time for her to gel as a villain, and she defo deserves the chance to make things work. Allysin should get a few calls from AEW herself, 'cause she made the most of this opportunity and worked the enhancement spot with aplomb.
