2 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Rampage (Oct 20 - Results & Review)

1. Didn’t Learn Their Lesson

Claudio Castagnoli Wheeler Yuta BCC
AEW

AEW putting Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta in another squash is unacceptably sh*t. It didn't work a few weeks back, and it certainly didn't fly on Friday's episode of Rampage. Was Tony Khan doing something else when BCC wrestled Gates Of Agony last week? That was more like it.

This short win over Bryan Keith and Exodus Prime was rubbish.

Claudio and Wheeler should be exclusively booked in competitive bouts, because that's how you squeeze the most out of them. They're both wasted on squashes. If anything, sticking Big Bill and Ricky Starks in there for a quick squash would've been better. At least then Bill could've looked like the difference maker.

Rampage did nothing to hype up BCC's Tag Title tilt on Collision. This does not count as proper build. It was yet another example of AEW's all-too-familiar formula of, 'Here's a random title match you should care about just because we say so > here's another match featuring some of the same wrestlers > here's a match graphic telling you the title match is still happening'.
