2 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE Raw (May 23)
Ups…
2. KO And Company Make Things Work
This entire Ezekiel deal really shouldn’t work. There’s just no reason for it to be as legit funny as it is, and we really shouldn’t be this entertained.
But the storyline – Ezekiel insisting that he is Elias’ younger brother, while Kevin Owens swears he’s just a cleanshaven Elias in different gear – has been absurd in the best possible way. This has gone from Chad Gable’s lie detector test, to the botched DNA test (thanks to Otis’ barbecue sauce contamination), and finally transitioned to Owens challenging Ezekiel to a match at Hell in a Cell on Monday night.
The match itself probably won’t be anything special – Ezekiel isn’t exactly a gifted wrestler, but this could be a lot of fun if played correctly. And really, we need something fun right now.
