20 Absolute Best Wrestlers In The World Right Now

19. Hangman Page

Best in the world 2021
AEW

Still in the midst of a long-term character arc that probably concludes with him wresting the AEW World Championship from Kenny Omega's dastardly clutches, Hangman Page is in an odd place heading into Revolution 2021: entrenched in the midcard.

The short Matt Hardy feud should ultimately conclude with Page's hand being raised. After that, there's plenty of unexplored Dark Order territory to cover, particularly now that John Silver and co. are playing fully-fledged babyfaces. How these storylines offer a pathway back to the upper-midcard and main event remains to be seen, though it's worth trusting the process. AEW's slow-burning approach to building new stars appears to be working so far.

Having regained much of the swagger lost through his Anxious Millennial Cowboy phase, Page is growing in confidence through well-played television matches and segments. He's yet to wrestle a truly big bout in 2021, but is growing as an explosive dynamo of a professional wrestler, having proved himself capable of elevating less-seasoned talents like Isiah Kassidy and Ryan Nemeth.

That the rest of his 2021 journey should be more compelling than the first two months could make Page a top 10 contender by year's end.
