20 Absolute Best Wrestlers In The World Right Now

13. Pete Dunne

Though they've made poor use of their British talent pool since the division's January 2017 inception, WWE have a major star on their hands in Pete Dunne, who is coming into his own as a mainstream-ready performer with a skill-set wider than most wrestlers with twice his experience.

His best matches present a performer very much in the vein of NXT General Manager William Regal. Dunne is a stiff, nasty technician who attacks limbs like he wants to tear them off, with his intensity transforming even the most rudimentary hold into something torturous. There are elements of Kings Road puroresu to his style, too, with 'The Bruiserweight' not averse to spirited striking exchanges.

From dazzling high spots to methodical mat work, there's nothing Dunne can't do. He has been a huge highlight whenever he has showed up in NXT, but also a big part of PROGRESS Wrestling's success, though he has drifted out of the spotlight after losing the company's top title. A full-time WWE contract now feels like an inevitability, and we can likely expect him to show up at the Performance Center later this year, fast-tracking his rise to superstardom.
