20 Best Matches Of Brock Lesnar's Career
7. Vs. John Cena - Extreme Rules 2012
Brock Lesnar returning to WWE the night after WrestleMania XXVIII was something fans had been waiting a long time for. Unsurprisingly, his first rivalry back was against John Cena, and The Beast truly lived up to his moniker in this Extreme Rules match.
Whether intentional or not, several sharp elbows to Cena's forehead forced the Cenation leader to bleed like a proverbial stuffed pig. In a sight not often seen in WWE, ringside doctors had to repeatedly pause the match in order to stop the massive bleeding. Lesnar further drove home his dominance by tying Cena up in the top turnbuckle, with his own chain no less. Growing increasingly violent, the former Next Big Thing would take out several referees while continuing to beat down the face of the WWE, leaping off the steel steps in the ring to launch himself at Cena.
With a dominating performance like this, Brock Lesnar would have been the clear winner. However, that was not the case, as was par for the course at the time, Super Cena himself would make an appearance, making a last minute comeback to hit an Attitude Adjustment to win. While the loss does take away from the match, this bloody and violent war was a showcase of things to come for the returning Beast in his return to WWE.
