20 Best TNA Wrestlers Ever

2. Kurt Angle

Joe above Angle?

You could make a strong case for the Samoan Submission Machine to land in the No. 2 spot (or even No. 1), but Angle gets the edge here, as the man never seemed to give up. In Joe’s later years in TNA, he looked unmotivated. It’s hard to blame him, but his work just wasn’t that interesting near the end, and he was a shell of it once was (he's currently turned that around in NXT). Angle, though, gave it his all every night out.

When you look at purely great TNA matches, perhaps no one can pass Angle's records. He had classics with Joe and A.J. Styles, and carried Jeff Jarrett, Jeff Hardy, Mr. Anderson and Sting to the best matches they ever had in the company. Angle could just work with anyone, and often made his opponents look better than they actually were.

Throughout his run, he was also consistently reliable on the mic, and could still cut intense heel promos or play a comedy act when needed. While he may have been over-pushed at times, he gave it 110% every time out and didn’t seem to be holding anyone down. He worked with everyone, and truly seemed like he wanted to create some stars.

If every former WWE or WCW main-eventer had come in with Angle's drive and attitude, TNA would be in a much better place right now.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
