20 Best TNA Wrestlers Ever

3. Samoa Joe

One of the most exciting times ever in TNA was watching Samoa Joe absolutely tear it up in his early run in the company. Despite all the big booking mistakes made in TNA by the time he debuted, they somehow got Joe right. They let him go out there and destroy nearly everyone in his path, and then, when it was time for him to work lengthier matches, they booked him with incredible opponents that blew away everything else on the card.

Most fans agree that Joe was pushed nowhere near as aggressively as he should have been in TNA over the course of his stay there. Even though he was their World Heavyweight Champion and X Division Champion on multiple occasions, they never made him THE star player like John Cena was to WWE. At best, he was like how CM Punk was portrayed when he was the champion, basically as an entertaining guy who held the belt, but you knew he wasn’t who management really had their hearts set on.

Joe left TNA on a downer with The Beat Down Clan run. It was a decent stable, but he still deserved to be a top guy, and not just another member in a group. Still, he delivered a ton of great matches in TNA, he was involved in some of their best moments (like Kurt Angle’s debut) and remains one of the top wrestlers to ever step inside of their six-sided ring.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
