20 Best Triple H Wrestling Matches Ever
3. Vs. Chris Jericho - Fully Loaded 2000
Further proof that 2000 was one of the best years in WWE history, look no further than this clash of styles between the Game and Y2J, Chris Jericho.
Jericho had fallen for an elaborate scheme between Hunter, Stephanie McMahon and DX to get Y2J where they wanted him for a number-game attack. A match was set between the two men at Fully Loaded, with the stakes raised to a Last Man Standing contest. A fairly B-level feud, and a foreshadowing of things to come in the following years, but this is the WrestleMania match between the two that we should have got, because this was excellent.
The bout saw Hunter take most of the control throughout, targeting Jericho's ribs for early advantage, though the two of them nearly took each other out following simultaneous monitor blows. Hunter bumped admirably for the Canadian and even tapped out to the Walls of Jericho, despite not being able to end the match with a submission.
After the hold was broken by Stephanie, Jericho locked the hold in on her, causing the Game to launch onto him with his trusty sledgehammer, though Chris did take advantage of the weapon himself resulting in both men going down for the count, though Hunter managed to beat make it to his feet before the 10.
Hunter's storytelling was once again on point and allowed the former WCW stalwart to look every bit his equal. Shame the same can't be said for WrestleMania X8...
