In 2002, Triple H was given the World Heavyweight Championship by Eric Bischoff, without any kind of victory to cement him as a worthy champion. In 2007, Vince McMahon gave the recently vacated WWE Championship to Randy Orton, something which Triple H didn't take a liking to.

As such Triple H beat Orton in the night's opening match of No Mercy for the title. He would then beat Umaga to retain but would have to wrestle Orton again in the main event, this time in a Last Man Standing match. The two former Evolution mates would knock seven bells out of each other in order to grab the gold, using everything but the kitchen sink in order to keep each other down for the 10 count.

Understandably, Triple H was exhausted having already wrestled twice that night and having injured ribs from his match with the Samoan Bulldozer, Orton took full advantage but not without ample comeback from the Game. Eventually the pain and the stamina of the younger combatant got the better of him and following an RKO on the announce table, was unable to answer the 10 count, awarding the win to Orton.

Triple H is tough, but having the stamina to wrestle an hour over the course of three matches is something to marvel at, and he deserves so much credit for making Randy look like the superstar that he would become.
