Last year placed 9 What a year the 29 year old Dean Ambrose has had. He started January as the US Champion and was the star of The Shield, enjoying great limelight in the epic Wyatt vs Shield feud around February. He furthered his reputation with great performances in The Shield's two matches with Evolution. He's got a bit of everything in his locker, brawling, flying, technical wrestling and hardcore spots. He also sells in a very effective manner. His absolute greatest asset is his mic skills, which were allowed to fully shine in the latter half of the year. Ambrose dropped the US title in May (after enjoying the longest reign of the WWE US Title era at 351 days), and was unleashed as a singles star after Seth Rollins turned on and split The Shield. At first it appeared that Ambrose would be lost in the shuffle, with Reigns and Rollins being the more pushed stars. However, Ambrose benefited from Reigns going out injured. As a result, Ambrose was the most over babyface of the Autumn, with strong merchandise sales to match. As 'The Lunatic Fringe' character, he has emerged as a highlight on WWE television. In ring matches like his brawl with Seth Rollins at Hell In A Cell proved that he can be a main event asset. The issue for Ambrose going forward is that he may be lost in the shuffle. When WWE has a fully fit roster of Cena, Reigns, Bryan and more, you have to wonder how the Lunatic Fringe will fit in. Highlight of the year: Dropping off the Hell In A Cell structure.
