OK, so this match was super-recent and there is always the threat of more whilst Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles are still actively wrestling on the same roster. Their WWE Title collision at Backlash 2024 over in France did have a one-off vibe to it though; the whole framing heading in teased that this would be AJ's only crack at Cody's gold.
It belongs on the list right now, or at least until there's a sequel.
Cody and Styles played before one of the rowdiest WWE crowds ever in Lyon, and they met that lively audience halfway by producing a scorching effort you really should go back and watch again. Up-to-the-minute bouts rarely get revisited because, well...they've just happened, but you'll enjoy this even more second time around.
