20 Former WWE Stars Who Should Return For Brand Split 2016

7. Damien Sandow

It's never too soon to admit you've made a mistake. Last month, WWE released several superstars, and while most - like Hornswoggle, Zeb Colter, and Santino Marella - weren't of any real use to the company, others were missed opportunities. The most surprising name on the list was Damien Sandow, who had remained a hugely-popular star despite a year without a real storyline.

Sandow joined the company in 2012 as a snooty intellectual, and his microphone work made him a hated heel. In 2014, though, the former Money in the Bank winner shifted gears and became The Miz's stunt double. Though ostensibly still a bad guy, his impersonations of the former WWE Champion were so amusing that he became hugely popular. Miz got jealous, Sandow stood up for himself... and then lost their showdown.

After that, there was nothing for the star to do. He began to imitate Randy Savage, but that went nowhere. His television appearances became more seldom, but he still got great reactions - including at WrestleMania 32. Sandow was admittedly disappointed with the way his career ended, but WWE has the chance to undo their mistake. With two rosters in need of filling, Sandow would be a great addition to Raw or Smackdown.
