20 Former WWE Stars Who Should Return For Brand Split 2016

13. Low Ki

Speaking of the second season of NXT, it was that run which completely cemented the competition as a joke. Independent star Low Ki filled the role Daniel Bryan had in season one, making him the experienced world-class talent who needed to learn to show personality (or was chosen to be humiliated, depending on your perspective). As Kaval, Low Ki was mentored by Michelle McCool and Layla El.

Kaval ended up winning the entire competition, then suffered repeated losses on the main roster. He earned a spot on the Smackdown team at Bragging Rights 2010, but lost it to Tyler Reks. In the title shot he earned from winning NXT, he lost to Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler. Less than four months after his NXT win, he was released.

It was Low Ki's size which held him back, but things have changed in the company. Men like Neville and Austin Aries have been allowed to show their talent despite their height, and if Low Ki is willing to come back to the company, WWE would be wise to give him the same opportunity.
