20 Former WWE Stars Who Should Return For Brand Split 2016

12. Stevie Richards

Stevie Richards has almost 25 years of experience in the ring, but the 44-year-old star is ageless. He proved that last year in a surprise return to Ring of Honor and valiant runs at Jay Lethal and Roderick Strong.

WWE fans would likely react well to Richards, as not only is he an ECW original, but he spent nearly a decade with Vince McMahon's promotion. He debuted during the Attitude Era as a comedy character who would dress like other stars, but he soon became one of the most hated heels in the company when, as Steven Richards, he formed the Parents' Television Council-inspired Right to Censor. Richards wasn't pushed, but he was hated.

When the RTC disbanded, Richards stayed an undercard heel, only turning face when ECW was brought back. At that point, Richards played the veteran underdog, still losing matches but getting a great reaction when doing so. He was released in 2008 and has been active since.

Given that Richards can still go and is guaranteed a good reaction, there's no reason for WWE to overlook him. Odds are he won't be challenging Roman Reigns, but he can still be a valued part of the roster.
