20 Greatest Foreign Stars Who Made It Big In WWE

14. Chris Benoit

benoit After jumping ship from WCW during the Monday Night Wars, Quebec-born Chris Benoit quickly established himself as one of the most formidable mat technicians in the WWE. Famed for his tenacious attitude and painful Crippler Crossface submission hold, Benoit was a hugely popular star. In fact, Benoit's style and emotional World Heavyweight Championship victory in 2004 has been compared to that of current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan. Bryan has mentioned on several occasions that his style is partially modelled on Benoit, including his signature diving headbutt. Benoit was involved in memorable matches on both WWE and WCW, but it is on the former show that he really made his name. Tragedy has marred his position within the WWE landscape, but he was certainly one of the greatest foreign superstars in the history of the company.
