20 Greatest Losing Performances At WrestleMania

4. Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker €“ WrestleMania 25 And 26

Widely considered to be the greatest WrestleMania match of all-time, Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker stole the show at WrestleMania 25 in Houston, Texas. Shawn was perfect that night. Everything he did in the ring had an intention. He literally made ONE mistake down the final stretch, attempting a moonsault that had taken out so many opponents before. The Undertaker caught him to deliver a Tombstone for the win. When Shawn wanted a rematch the following year, Taker €“ then World Heavyweight Champion €“ refused. It took Shawn costing him his title at Elimination Chamber for Taker to accept under the condition that if Shawn lost, he would retire. It was on. Again, HBK€™s performance was flawless. The match is a greatest hits compilation of Shawn Michaels through the years. He even opened the match with an act of defiance by slapping the undefeated Undertaker in the face. You don€™t do that. In the end, it would be The Undertaker in full control, telling Shawn to €œstay down€ as he struggled to his feet. Instead, the defiant HBK stole The Undertaker€™s trademark throat-slash gesture before slapping The Dead Man AGAIN. An infuriated Undertaker snatched Shawn and delivered a high-impact Tombstone with extra mustard. That marked the end of the rivalry and Shawn€™s in-ring career.
