A sentimental favourite for most early-90s WWE fans, the Bret/Owen Hart simmering sibling rivalry reached its staggering crescendo in this emotionally charged Tag Team Title match against dirtbag heels The Quebecers.

After tensions flared at November's Survivor Series between future Hall-of-Famer Bret and his younger brother, fences were seemingly mended enough for 'The Hitman' to nobly step back into the tag team ranks to aid Owen in winning his first major WWE title. However, The Quebecers took note of the dormant discord between the two, bullying Owen in the early-going to raise the ire of Bret, then suckering him in to a vicious assault, focusing on 'The Hitman's knee.

Relentless in their abuse and often using illegal double team moves, The Quebecers were rampant in their attack until Bret was finally able to regain the advantage long enough to potentially make the tag. Instead, he bravely attempted to apply the Sharpshooter for an immediate win, but in physically failing even to stand on such a weakened leg, he caused a referee stoppage and defeat for the Harts.

Incensed, Owen showed no sympathy for his fallen Brother, and would dramatically swipe at Bret's injured knee with a brutal kick, triggering a rivalry which would then headline cards for the majority of the year.
