Bayley's girlhood dream was to be a WWE Superstar, to win the championships and headline the shows that her idols did before her. The lovable underdog, she never had the success of her peer Sasha Banks in that she was never champion.

She looked to change that in Brooklyn, in front of the biggest crowd to ever witness an NXT event, as she battled The Boss in one of the most anticipated matches of the entire SummerSlam weekend.

With her family watching from the front row, and cameras rolling for WWE Network's 24, the Superstars waged war in one of the most emotionally taxing matches in recent memory. Bayley found her previously broken hand targeted by Banks, the surgically repaired area subjected to vicious kicks an stomps.

She could have easily quit, lived to see another day, but she fought through the pain. Throwing caution to the wind, Bayley delivered a jaw-dropping reverse hurricanrana from the top rope and put Banks away with the Bayley-to-Belly.

The aftermath of the match, with Bayley and Banks being joined by Becky Lynch and Charlotte in their own "Curtain Call" of sorts, hammered home to importance of the match to the performers themselves and the state of women's wrestling as a whole.
