20 Incredible WWE Ruthless Aggression Era Moments Nobody Ever Talks About

5. A Rather Underrated And Brutal Ladder War

Few would be quick to remember this specific ladder war when the words "Hardy Boyz" and "One Night Stand" are thrown their way.

But in what was unquestionably one of the most underrated two-on-two clashes of the Ruthless Aggression time period, Matt & Jeff put on a pretty violent show opposite The World's Greatest Tag Team (Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas) at the 2007 event.

The Hardy Boyz have obviously been involved in far more extreme, electric, and iconic ladder wars than this one on the one night of the year WWE attempted to go fully hardcore. However, not enough love has been shown this gritty and inevitably inventive World Tag Team Championship fight over the years.

From the Poetry in Motion ladder sandwich, to a fearless Benjamin's willingness to test just how many metal bumps his battered back could take, to one of the nastier ladder superplexes you're ever going to see from Jeff to Charlie, both units were determined to steal the night.

And they ultimately did exactly that, with the visual of Benjamin very nearly snapping his leg in two eliciting a deafening roar from the crowd as The Hardys sent the twosome tumbling to their doom on their way to successfully defending their straps.
