20 Late 90's WCW Stars You Totally Don't Remember

3. Swoll

It's a truly damning piece of insight into how WCW were doing business at the time, but Swoll was once on a $400,000 contract in 1999. This money was pretty much free for the guy, because he wasn't asked to do anything of note to earn it. Quite why this one seemed like a good idea to anyone in charge at the promotion is mind-boggling, and it's not hard to see why the company were losing money rapidly. Making his debut in 1991, Swoll wrestled around various companies on the independent circuit. By 1999, he still hadn't really made a name for himself in the wrestling business, but he was introduced by WCW as part of the 'No Limit Soldiers'. WCW's big idea for the faction is that they would be renegade babyfaces similar to D-Generation X. Unfortunately, wrestling fans didn't want to see rapper Master P, or his 'soldiers'. Stupidly, management threw an awful lot of money towards the 'No Limit Soldiers'. Millions of dollars were wasted on the idea without any real return. After just a few months, Swoll, Master P and gang had departed the organisation, burning a money trail behind them.
