Simply put, Horace Hogan only really had a job in World Championship Wrestling because of who is uncle was. Earlier, Hulk Hogan had helped Horace find brief employment in the WWF, where he competed in 1993 as 'The Predator'. The character wouldn't really ever take off, and it wasn't until WCW was red hot in 1998 that he would feature again. At no real point during his WCW tenure did Horace show he was a great wrestler, which only made it even more glaring why he was on the roster. Hulk went to bat for his nephew, and even when a short run as part of Raven's Flock hadn't panned out, Horace found himself embroiled in the ongoing nWo saga. At first, Hulk battered his family, showing a vicious heel side, but Horace would then be accepted into his 'nWo Hollywood' faction. The seeds were sown for this when Horace interfered during Hulk's match against Warrior at Halloween Havoc '98. Afterwards, he became a staunch ally of his uncle, but predictably went back to feuding with him in the year 2000. That summed up WCW's booking style, where wrestlers flipped and flopped between heel and babyface with alarming regularity.
