Another member of the aforementioned 'Natural Born Thrillers' stable, Reno was somebody WCW management viewed as having endless potential. Having trained before wrestling as a kickboxer, he was clearly a good athlete, and that was something the company were interested in exploring. In amongst more obvious choices to succeed like Sean O'Haire and Chuck Palumbo, Reno was somewhat of a dark horse in the Thrillers team. Regardless, he would go on to win the WCW Hardcore Title in late-2000. It was in 1999 that he made his WCW debut however, initially appearing as enhancement talent on shows such as WCW Saturday Night and Worldwide. Much like many others, his contract was taken over when the McMahon family purchased WCW, but there was to be no WWF success for Reno. Before he could even show up on WWF programming, Reno was released in late-2001. It's often odd to look back at the sheer number of wrestlers WCW produced that disappeared when the company went to the dogs. Reno wasn't the tallest performer, nor the biggest, but he had a rugged quality to his matches that the WWF surely could have worked on.
