20 Major WrestleMania Matches We Didn't Get

7. Eddie Guerrero Vs. Shawn Michaels (WrestleMania 22)

Around the eighth anniversary of Guerrero's passing, former WWE creative teamer Court Bauer revealed a tantalyzing plan for WrestleMania in Chicago, pitting two of the most complete performers in wrestling history, that had also never squared off before, in a one-on-one clash for the ages. According to Bauer, the suggestion for the match came from Bruce Prichard, and it was pitched less than 48 hours prior to Guerrero's untimely death. Their careers were to be paralleled in a similar fashion to Michaels and Jericho's in the build to WrestleMania 19, their commonalities presented in a way that showed that both stars were neck and neck, legacy-wise. Instead, Michaels warred with Vince McMahon, and Guerrero's death was controversially invoked for Rey Mysterio's run to the World Heavyweight title.
