Overtly sexual and willing to do whatever it took to help the Rated R Superstar advance his career, she quickly became one of the most hated characters on WWE television. Late in 2006, she returned to the ring after a year of serving as a valet and focused on regaining the Women's Championship that she had held twice before. She won it, then dropped it to a retiring Trish Stratus. She later regained it by beating Mickie James in a tournament final and began a rivalry with the spunky Diva. At Survivor Series, she would wrestle her final match with WWE, a title defense against Mickie. After being bested by the younger Diva, she saw her career with the company she helped thrive throughout the 2000s come to an end. A heel, she was humiliated on the way out, having her sexual history poked fun at by popular babyface tag team Cryme Tyme. JTG and Shad gave her personal effects, including vibrators and lingerie, to the rabid Philadelphia fans. While some complained about the nature of the sendoff, it made sense within the context of the character. Besides, Lita would have the opportunity to say goodbye in a more fitting manner when she was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2014.
