AEW Did Not Force Ricochet To Apologise For Inappropriate MS Tweets (AEW News)

Latest on backstage fallout in AEW following Ricochet's awful comments on social media.

Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp is reporting that neither AEW management nor top brass at Warner Bros Discovery told Ricochet to publicly apologise for his comments about a fan's serious health condition on social media.

For reference, the All Elite wrestler had said he was "glad" a fan criticising his acting ability has Multiple Sclerosis. Later, Ricochet backtracked, pointed to the abuse he and his wife (former WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin) receive on apps, then eventually apologised for his cutting, frankly disgraceful words.

That hasn't appeased everyone in the pro wrestling community, and it's clear that Rico has taken his heel persona too far on X. Biting back at fans who criticise him is one thing, and there's no excuse for some of the horrendous comments people leave him and Irvin, but adding to the problem he himself is complaining about was...appalling from Ricochet.

It'll be interesting to find out how fans respond to news that AEW boss Tony Khan and those above him at WBD decided not to step in. According to Sapp, nobody outright told the worker that he had to say sorry and try to make things right.

Ricochet lost his AEW National Title during the 'Zero Hour' pre-show before last weekend's Revolution pay-per-view. Jack Perry won a 21-man Battle Royal to win the title, then Rico cut an angry promo on him afterwards. That promo prompted the 'bad acting' response, which in turn led to Ricochet's nasty, unprofessional and rather disgusting rebuttal.
