The popularity of the WWE in the late 90's was enormous. As a result, a second major show was added to the tv schedule, which would go on to become Smackdown. However, when first pitched, the idea was for a Divas only show. The names pitched included "WWE Ring Skirts", "WWE Female Fury", "WWE GlamSlam" and "WWE Leather & Lace." Thankfully, none of those awful names ever made it to the production stage. The idea wasn't bad if it had focused on in-ring wrestling, but chances are it would have ended up a sleazy type show. That was just the nature of the product back in those days. Ironically, it would probably work great in 2015 as an in-ring focused show with the athletic girls from NXT.
