17. Gorilla Monsoon Was Supposed To Buy The WWF From Vince Snr
As the elder Vince McMahon looked to sell up, the last person on his mind was Vince McMahon Jnr. He felt that his son wasn't experienced enough to carry the business. It was also an accepted notion that Gorilla Monsoon would purchase the WWF. He was already a shareholder and Vince Snr felt like he was the right man. "Monsoon pushed back at the time because he was the heir apparent," Linda McMahon states in WWE 50, "He was the one that Vincent said he was going to sell to because he understood the business, he was in the business, and he was a smart guy. So there was some pushback from him." Nevertheless, Vince Jnr attained the company and Gorilla went to work for him, becoming even more of a legend as a commentator.
