Sure, they weren't the only tag team to borrow the post-apocalyptic bondage look from the Mad Max films, but they were the first and, incidentally, also the most original. Whereas Demolition did a full-on aping of Lord Humungus from The Road Warrior film, Hawk and Animal created a more elaborate version of the punk-ish S&M outfits that better suited their hard-hitting ways.
Their main costumes consisted of two important features: Mohawk variations and football shoulder pads. The simple addition of spikes to the pads added an extra bit of edge to the fearsome duo, while Hawk's inverted mohawk remains one of the single coolest/awesomely ridiculous hairstyles in wrestling history.
LOD (or, interchangeably, The Road Warriors) were a distinctive team from top to bottom, and their ring attire backed that up.
