20 Most Popular Wrestlers Of 2014 (According To Google Metrics)

6. Batista, 85.1% Increase From 2013

Dave Batista was one of WWE's biggest stars from 2005 to 2010. That stardom has endured, even last year when he wasn't with WWE, he was still featured 29th on this list (which also incorporated the boxing and UFC stars). That's exactly why WWE brought him back in January of this year, his continued name value and fame were seen as a boost for the WWE brand. It didn't quite work out that way. Batista was quickly criticised by the fans, who bemoaned his undeserved victory in January's Royal Rumble. Still, fans may not have been talking about him in a good way, but they were at least talking about him. His eventual heel turn and main event run to WrestleMania 30 ensured his google searches went up. Then came Guardians Of The Galaxy. Batista left WWE in June to promote his role in the blockbuster film, which will account for even more searches of his name. He's now both a credibile mainstream star as well as a WWE superstar. That should keep him near the top of WWE related searches for some time to come.
