Where do you even begin when looking back on the blockbuster last 12-months that have unfolded over in The Land of All Elite?

Fresh off of a heart-breaking conclusion to an already undoubtedly terrible 2020, with Brodie Lee's tragically unexpected passing still being felt a year on, a crowd-less era still wouldn't stop All Elite Wrestling from delivering the goods on a weekly basis. A Belt Collector added new captivating chapters to an already stellar legacy, a Hangman battled through his demons and anxieties to rise up the rankings, and The Salt of the Earth attempted to tear down The Inner Circle from within... and this was all before fans were even given the green light to make their long-awaited comeback.

But when said development was finally set in motion, boy, did AEW give them a reason to lose their sh*t. Following on from the unfortunate dud that was Revolution's un-explosive ending, a spectacular Double or Nothing kickstarted arguably the most talked about period in the company's history.

As the months would tumble by and momentum was gathered, the moment many imagined would never come to pass only went and f*cking did. The Best in the World waltzed down to the ring for his First Dance in Tony Khan's playground. But this was merely the beginning. Undisputed top guys, American Dragons, NJPW icons, and under-utilised Rubies would all make their presence known before long.

Yet, the best was still yet to come. A Hangman finally commeth, seeing off The Cleaner at Full Gear to finally fulfil his destiny. In true anxious millennial fashion, the new champ would then go one better in forming one part of a 60-minute instant classic against the former Daniel Bryan. True cowboy sh*t, I think you'll agree.

Perhaps the most staggering revelation when looking back on this exceptional year of All Elite goodness is the fact that the best could very much still be to come. So, brace yourself for more top level tournaments, returns/debuts capable of destroying the roof of many a building, and more than a few compelling shocks along the way. Now isn't the time for looking forward, though. It's a time for scanning through Instagram and celebrating our All Elite heroes' finest posts of 2021!
