When will people learn that professional wedding and romance do not mix?!

As 2001 dragged to a close, the McMahon-Helmsley Empire was on thin ice. The love had quite obviously been drained from their marriage, and Triple H seemed less and less interested in his darling wife. Stephanie was desperate to keep Hunter however, and concocted a fake pregnancy story in order to keep him by her side. Oh wrestling, you are so dumb sometimes.

The two arranged to renew their vows in February 2002, deciding to do so in front of a live television audience because of course they would. Unbeknownst to Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, Hunter Hearst McMahon-Helmsley found out about Steph's deceit and lies on the day of the renewal, and was waiting for the right time to unleash his vocal fury on his good wife.

Being a television drama, he waited until they were at the altar to do so. The two were done, but luckily they managed to reconcile just in time to get in Daniel Bryan's way and give birth to the glory of NXT.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
