20 Obscure WWE Tag Teams You Totally Don't Remember

9. The Squat Team

Some acts just aren't built to succeed in WWE, and The Headhunters are a perfect example of this. Forming in 1987, the duo were a well-travelled tag team who established a strong reputation for themselves in Puerto Rico, Japan, and Mexico. They even competed for the original ECW prior to eventually signing with WWE, and were a set of relatively agile big men whose ability defied their lardball appearances.

Their time in WWE was completely pointless, however. The duo were signed in January 1996, and renamed The Squat Team. Identified only as Squat Teamer #1 and Squat Teamer #2, the duo entered the 1996 Royal Rumble and set their eyes on the match's biggest competitors, but they couldn't last two minutes between team. Teamer #1 was thrown out by Vader after just 71 seconds, and Teamer #2 outdid his partner when Yokozuna chucked him after 24.

The duo weren't seen again until they reappeared as the Jim Cornette-managed Arabian Butchers on a 1997 episode of Raw. They attacked Owen Hart and the British Bulldog following a tag team match, but the angle went over incredibly poorly with the crowd, and the duo never appeared again. A complete waste of time for everyone involved.
