20 Obscure WWE Tag Teams You Totally Don't Remember

15. The Gymini

Best known for their run as a penis-themed tag team in TNA (The Johnsons), Mike and Todd Shane entered the WWE developmental system in January 2005. They worked in Ohio Valley Wrestling and Deep South Wrestling for a full year before making their main roster transition, and in January 2006, they debuted as Simon Dean's proteges.

The Gymini's name was a play on both Dean's gimmick as a nutritional supplement salesman, and the mythological Gemini twins. A relatively clever name, but there was nothing smart about The Gymini between the ropes. Over-muscled and under-seasoned, The Gymini were a set of burly powerhouses who brought impressive size to the table, and not a whole lot else. Their matches stunk, and so did their fitness-themed characters.

The Gymini were originally employed to rid Dean's life of Paul London and Brian Kendrick, though they were mostly consigned to Velocity thereafter. They remained unnamed throughout their first few months before eventually taking-on the names Jake and Jesse, but their run ended prematurely in mid-2006. Jesse was stuck down by injury, the duo were relegated to developmental when he returned, and they were released in January 2007.
