This shocking backstage photo illustrates the darker side of pro wrestling. Stone Cold Steve Austin had just been dropped on his head by a careless Owen Hart. The botched piledriver at SummerSlam 1997 would ultimately wipe years off Steve's career. It also temporarily paralysed him in the ring for a few minutes that night. As you can see from this image, the cracked neck was a very serious incident. A neck brace is next to the wrestler, who is sweating profusely and is unable to keep his eyes open.
